Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Man, this is loud..! Fireworks have now been going off for about 1 hour non-stop and it doesn't look like it's going to stop soon... or ever!

This is a tradition in China, when it comes to New Year you HAVE to play with fireworks. But I'm not talking about the small crackers you mess around with when you're a kid, I'm talking about the "real stuff"... the big ones that go real high in the sky and could probably kill a man or two if they were not used properly :)

This has been quite an evening... an illegal type of evening!

First we went to have dinner at this Sichuan restaurant. The food was great, quite spicy but I managed... so far, nothing illegal! Then we went to play poker at someone's place... but again, I'm not talking about a friendly game for fun between friends (although people were friendly there), I'm talking about 2 real poker tables of 8 players in a living room with pro chips, two decks of cards per table and real rules!!! This is the real deal! As usual, I got ripped off but nothing too serious... although, will I be able to eat tomorrow? :) Seriously, I had fun but you have to admit it's quite hard to play with people you don't know... All in! After a loooooong taxi ride from the North East of town, I'm now back at the hotel to "enjoy" the celebrations. But I'm pretty sure this is nothing compared to tomorrow... we'll see!

Quick note: today is my 2-year anniversary at work! Thanks guys for shooting so many fireworks on this occasion :)
